AP 16 Black Mambas & AP 17 Eclectic - Top 25!

AP 15 PHD had an impressive run at the 2009 Junior Olympic National tournament in Miami. The team finished with a 9-2 match record in the 15 National division, claiming the Silver championship (9th place). AP 15 PHD had wins over the 2nd & 3rd place finishing teams and just missed out on gold with a loss to the eventual champion. Fantastic season and excellent way to represent AP at the Junior Olympics. Congratulations PHD!

AP 16 Black Mambas won their first pool and marched their way to a 23rd place finish at the Junior Olympic National tournament in Miami. AP 16 Black Mambas was knocked out of gold by the eventual champion and 5th place finisher. Phenomenal season Black Mambas!

AP 17 Eclectic played an impressively tough schedule and finished 6-4 at the Junior Olympic National tournament, for a Flight 1 championship (21st place). They finished with a 6-4 match record, losing to the eventual champion and 5th place finisher. Great year Eclectic!

7 AP Teams Finish Top Ten at Regionals &
AP 15 PHD is Lone Star Regional Champions

AP 15 PHD, AP 16 Black Mamba and AP 17 Eclectic all finished in the top three at the Lone Star Regional tournament and earned bids to the Junior Olympic national tournament in Miami at the end of June. The 3 AP nationals-bound teams combined to win 90% of their matches at Regionals, finishing 18-2.

 AP 15 PHD finished a perfect 6-0 in matches and 12-1 in games on their way to becoming the Lone Star Regional champions and earning a bid to the national division of the Junior Olympics. 


AP 17 Eclectic went 6-1 as they marched their way to the finals and finished 2nd overall earning an american bid to the Junior Olympics.

AP 16 Black Mamba went 6-1 in matches on their way to 3rd overall and an american bid for the Junior Olympics.

AP 14 Stealth finished in the gold bracket and the top ten while AP 12 Rudy, AP 13 Kiraly and AP 17 Puma all made the gold division and finished in the top 15. 

AP 15 Fury finished with a phenomenal 5-1 record and placed 3rd overall in the 15 club division.

AP 13 Sharks earned their way in to the gold division of 13 club and finished in 5th place.

AP 16 Piranhas played their way in to the gold division of 16 club and finished a very respectable 6th overall.

AP 17 Eclectic, playing in the open division in Reno, finished in 9th place out of 23 teams. 

AP 16 Black Mamba finished 9th out of 192 teams, with a solid and respectable 7-2 record at the 3-day national qualifier.

AP 18 Samurai, finished with a 6-2 record placing them 9th out of more than 100 teams.

AP 17 Puma, also finished with a 6-2 record and finished 13th overall in the 17 Club division.

AP 12 Rudy won yet another tournament, winning the SAVBA #3 tournament in San Antonio.

AP 12 Titans finished 2nd in their San Antonio tournament.

 


AP 15 PHD Finishes 4th at Lone Star
AP 14 Stealth - Top 10 at Lone Star

AP 15 PHD, playing in Dallas at the Lone Star National qualifier, won their first nine matches before falling in the semifinal and finishing 4th out of more than 180 teams. Great job PHD!

AP 14 Stealth, also playing in Dallas at the Lone Star National qualifier, made the gold bracket and finished 9th out of more than 165 teams. Way to go Stealth!


AP 15 PHD Finishes 5th in Baltimore
AP 16 Black Mamba, AP 17 Puma - Top 10 at Lone Star

AP 15 PHD, playing in Baltimore at the Northeast National qualifier, rolled through their first seven matches and battled in the quarterfinal with the eventual champion. PHD finished in 5th place out of more than 80 teams. Way to go PHD!

AP 16 Black Mamba finished a solid 7-1 on the weekend at the Lone Star National qualifier, losing only to the eventual champion. Black Mamba finished 9th out of 130 teams. Great job ladies!

AP 17 Puma went 8-2 at the Lone Star National qualifier, winning the silver bracket, and finishing 9th out of more than 100 teams. Congrats Puma!

AP 17 Eclectic finished 15th in the 17 Open division, and AP 18 Samurai had a top 20 finish out of more than 85 teams.

AP 15 Katana took the Bronze championship in Baltimore at the Northeast National qualifier.


USA Olympians Nicole Davis and Stacy Sykora
run a ball control camp for Austin Performance

USA Olympians and 2008 Silver Medalists from the Beijing Olympics, Nicole Davis and Stacy Sykora, came to Austin on April 5 and ran a ball control camp for Austin Performance. Almost fifty AP players attended and loved every minute of it.


AP 14 Stealth - Top Ten in Kansas City 
at Show Me National Qualifier

AP 14 Stealth earned their way to the gold bracket, finishing with a 5-2 match record and a top ten finish. Phenomenal job Stealth!

AP 16 IF played in the 2-day South Padre Island tournament and captured the tournament championship and a gold medal. Congratulations IF.

AP 12 Rudy, AP 13 Kiraly and AP 15 Momentum all fought their way to 2nd place finishes in their respective tournaments. Good job ladies.

AP 16 Black Mamba played up in the 17s division and earned their way to the finals and a silver medal.

AP 16 Spartans played up in the 17s/18s division of the 2-day Advantage Sports Classic in Dallas and finished 2nd in the silver bracket.


AP 15 PHD Wins 2 Tournaments in Same Weekend
AP 16 Spartans are Perfect in Tournament Win

AP 15 PHD played in division I of the Tournament of Stars on Saturday and went a perfect 5-0 in matches and 13-0 in games over a long, 12-hour day. The team made its way back to Austin and was back in the gym at 7am to play up in a 16s tournament. On Sunday, PHD was undefeated again (with a 7-1 games record) and captured their 2nd tournament championship in the same weekend. The team finished 20-1 in games on the weekend. Way to go PHD!

AP 16 Spartans went a perfect 4-0 in matches and 8-0 in games to capture their 5-team pool and tournament championship on Sunday in Austin. Congrats Spartans!

AP 12 Lotus won their pool and finished in 2nd place in their tournament. Way to go Lotus!

AP 14 Moxie also played in the Tournament of Stars, where they finished as runner-up. Good job Moxie!

AP 15 Katana had a strong weekend in Division I of the Tournament of Stars and just missed out on making it an all-AP final. Katana finished 3rd of the 24 teams. Great job Katana!

Final Tour Standings - 3 more AP teams in Top 10

AP 16 Piranhas had an undefeated win in their Sunday Fun pool. Way to go ladies!

The Tour of Texas finals saw AP 17 Eclectic finish 4th overall at the final stop. AP 17 Puma finished 17th overall and AP 16 Black Mamba, AP 17 Eclectic and AP 18 Samurai all finished in the top 10 in the final point standings. In addition to both AP 13 Kiraly and AP 15 PHD finishing top 10 in the TCS, this puts 5 AP teams in the top 10 of the final points standings. Only 2 clubs in the state had more teams finish in the top ten of the TCS/Tour than AP. Excellent job AP!

AP 15 Fury finished 5-1 at the 2-day Cross Court Classic in Houston and won the silver division, finishing 19th out of 72. Good job Fury!


2 Top 10 Finishes in Indy!
... and AP 12 Rudy & AP 14 Stealth Win Again

AP 17 Puma and AP 18 Samurai each made it to the gold bracket and finished in 9th place in their respective age divisions at the Mideast National Qualifier in Indianapolis.  AP 17 Puma lost in the gold bracket to the eventual champion in a close 3-game battle to finish 9th out of 128 teams.  AP 18 Samurai also lost in the gold bracket to the eventual champion and finished 9th out of 128 teams. 

AP 12 Rudy, for the second weekend in a row, finished undefeated in matches and captured the tournament championship. This is their 3rd tournament win of the year. Phenomenal job Rudy!

AP 14 Stealth also won their tournament this weekend, with a very solid win in the championship match. Excellent job Stealth.

Following up on recent success, AP 16 Spartans finished as tournament runner-up, after losing just one match on the weekend. Great job Spartans!

AP 12 Titans and AP 15 Gazelle each also made it to the championship match of their respective tournaments and both earned solid 2nd place finishes. AP 12 Titans had some very exciting matches with an 18-16 3rd game win and a 10-point run at the end of the finals.  Way to go ladies.


AP 12 Rudy Wins Another Tournament &
AP 15 PHD Finishes 3rd in TX Championship Series

AP 12 Rudy captured their second tournament championship of the season. They finished undefeated in matches and with an 8-2 games record. Way to go... again... Rudy!

AP 15 PHD finished the Texas Championship Series in the 3rd overall spot in the points standings. Phenomenal job PHD!

AP 13 Kiraly also finished in the top 10 of the Texas Championship Series points standings, with their 9th place overall finish. Great job Kiraly!

AP 17 Eclectic and AP 18 Samurai played at the 2nd stop of the Tour of Texas, and each earned their way in to Division 1, the top 8, for the final stop. Both teams are currently in the top 10 of the points standings.

AP 12 Titans finished 2nd in their pool and then swept through their crossover match to capture 3rd place. After the tournament, the team threw their coach, Nicole Creek, a baby shower. 

AP 16 Spartans followed up their 3rd place finish last weekend in San Antonio with a silver bracket championship in Dallas at the North Texas Challenge 17s/18s division this weekend. The team only dropped one match, to the eventual champion, and then swept through the silver bracket. The players did a tremendous job of adjusting to new positions and lineups helping to make the team successful both weekends.

Good luck to AP 17 Eclectic, AP 17 Puma, and AP 18 Samurai in Indianapolis at the Mideast National Qualifier this weekend!


AP 18 Samurai Wins Tournament

AP 18 Samurai went 7-1 in games in San Antonio to capture their first tournament championship of the season. Great job Samurai!


Exciting Valentine's Day Weekend for AP

2 AP teams win their tournaments. AP 14 Flyers went a perfect 4-0 in matches to capture their first tournament championship of the season. Way to go Flyers!

AP 17 Eclectic won all five of their matches at the 2-day President's Cup tournament in San Antonio and captured their 2nd tournament championship of the season. Good job Eclectic!

AP 14 Stealth moves up to Division 2. AP 14 Stealth won their division 3 cross match at the 2nd Texas Championship Series stop to earn the right to compete in Division 2 at the final stop.

AP 15 PHD finishes 4th in Division 1. AP 15 PHD finished 4th overall at the second TCS stop and will be one of only 5 teams to compete in Division 1 at all three 15s TCS stops. 

AP 16 Black Mamba finished 2nd in this weekend's tournament with a 3-1 match record.


AP 15 Fury Wins Another Tournament
AP 15 Gazelle Finishes Second

AP 15 Fury played in the BCVA #3 tournament and came away with its second tournament championship of the season. The team's great chemistry has led them to back to back tournament championships. Way to go Fury!

AP 15 Gazelle played with just six players in the BCVA power pool division and won their pool on the way to finishing 2nd overall in the tournament. Congrats Gazelle!


AP 17 Puma Wins Pool at First Tour Stop
AP 12 Rudy Finishes 2nd

AP 17 Puma won their division 3 pool at the first Tour stop in College Station.

AP 12 Rudy swept through their 3 team pool with great serving and then took on AP 12 Titans in the semi-finals. It was a great match but Rudy came out on top to go on to the finals.  Rudy played great defense and even got a block on their way to finishing 2nd in the tournament.

AP 15 PHD Finishes 2nd at TCS, AP 13 Kiraly Wins D2

AP 12 Rudy went undefeated in all four matches and also had a perfect 8-0 games record on their way to the first tournament championship of the season. Congratulations ladies!

AP 15 PHD finished 2nd overall in Division 1 at the Texas Championship Series Stop #1. Because of that, the team currently sits in 2nd in the overall points standings. Good job PHD!

AP 13 Kiraly finished in the top 2 of Division 2 at the first stop of the Texas Championship Series and earned the right to move up to Division 1 (top 8) for the second stop. Way to go ladies! 


AP 15 PHD Finishes 4th in 16s Division of MLK
PHD finishes with a 7-2 record over 3 days

AP 15 PHD, playing up in the 16s division of MLK, went undefeated in each of their first two days' pools. On day 3, they came back from a 11-2 deficit in the first game of the quarterfinal to win 26-24, 25-16. PHD then lost in the semifinal in a close three game match to the eventual champion. Great job ladies! 


AP 15 Fury Wins BCVA Tournament in all AP final
AP 12 Rudy, AP 15 Momentum Finish 2nd

AP 15 Fury beat AP 15 Momentum in the all-AP final at the BCVA tournament on January 10. Congratulations to both teams for winning your pools and earning the right to finish first and second!

AP 12 Rudy won their pool and finished 2nd overall at the ASC #3 while AP 12 Titans finished 2nd in their pool and finished 4th overall.

AP 15 Gazelle dropped only one match to the eventual champion in the 15 open division of the BCVA tournament. AP 15 Gazelle finished 3rd overall!

Austin Performance teams kick off the 2009 year enjoying a wildly successful weekend at the TCS (13s-15s) and Tour of Texas (16s-18s) qualifier. 4 AP Teams earned the right to compete in the TCS and 4 earned the right to compete in the Tour. 

Austin Performance is one of only 5 clubs in the state to qualify a team in every age group of both the TCS and Tour. 

Of all the clubs that competed in the TCS and Tour qualifiers, Austin Performance has the 3rd most total number of teams that qualified.

First Weekend of Play - 4 AP Teams Win!
Four AP Teams Win Tournaments, All AP Final in 17s

AP 13 Kiraly, AP 15 PHD, AP 16 Black Mamba and AP 17 Eclectic all won their respective age groups at Mistletoe Madness on the first weekend of the 2008-09 season.

AP 17 Puma and AP 18 Samurai each reached the finals of their age group and finished 2nd. AP 17 Puma played AP 17 Eclectic in the finals of the 17s age group.

AP had a strong 15s showing with AP 15 Gazelle finishing 2nd and AP 15 Katana finishing 3rd.

Brian Wright Takes Coaching Position with Texas &
Rachel Kinkade Takes Position with Southwestern

Brian Wright (AP Summer Camp Director) was named the Volunteer Assistant Coach at the University of Texas.

Rachel Kinkade was named Assistant Coach at Southwestern University in Georgetown.

We are proud to have both Brian and Rachel on the AP coaching staff and wish both the Horns and Pirates the best of luck this season. 


Morgan Hendrix Competes for USA
at USA High Performance Championships

Morgan Hendrix, from 2008 AP 16 Stealth, competed for USA in the Youth International Division as a member of the USA Youth Gold team. The USA High Performance Championships was held in Tucson, Arizona on July 23-27.  We are very excited for and proud of Morgan!
