Tara Hatfield

 

Tara has coached club at the 15-18's age levels for 7 years with Texas Juniors DFW, 1 year with AIM and this is her 4th year with Austin Performance. Tara is also entering her 2nd season as the Assistant Coach at Southwestern University, where she helped the team to earn the 2009 SCAC Conference Championship. Tara led her 2003-2004 17's team to Nationals, a 3rd place finish at the Tampa Bay Qualifier, and a 5th place finish at Lone Star. Tara is a former setter at SMU (Division I) where she led the WAC in assists per game and was ranked in the Top 20 in Assists in the nation. She was awarded the Most Valuable Player in tournaments at Weber State University and Ohio State University . Tara was named to both the pre-season and post-season First Team All-WAC teams in 2001. Prior to college, she played volleyball for Coppell High School , playing four years and lettering varsity for three. As a sophomore, she received the district Newcomer of the Year award. She was selected to numerous All-Tournament teams, the Dallas Morning News All-Area team, and was named three time All-State by the Coaches Association and Sport Writers Association. Tara also achieved Academic All District for three consecutive years. She played nine years of club volleyball.
